Chris Chiu

Consultant

Chris was the founding partner of our firm back in 1989. While he relinquished his senior partner role in July 2013, he remains as a consultant at C & C Professional (formerly Chew & Chiu).


Chris first qualified as a Chartered Accountant in England, and has been a member of the CAANZ in Australia. Chris is also a registered company auditor and self-managed superannuation fund auditor.


Chris started his career at Everett Pinto London and later on joined Peat Marwick Mitchell Taiwan (now KPMG). Between 1984 and 1986, he was the audit manager at KPMG, Taipei. From 1986 to 1989, Chris was a senior manager in the Business Advisory Division at Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young).


Chris' overseas professional experience has been invaluable in servicing the needs of our clients, many of whom are recent migrants to Australia. He has been educating our clients well to adapt to Australian business conditions.


Chris has also been instrumental to the growth and upkeep of professional standards at C & C Professional. He is the one who instils discipline and an ethical work culture among our team members.


Chris was the former President of the Australian Taiwanese Friendship Association and a former Overseas Community Affairs Commissioner of the Taiwan Government. He remains highly regarded in the local community.



Outside the office, Chris enjoys going to theatre and ballroom dancing. He also likes gardening, antiques, interior design and painting.

Peter Choy

Director

Peter has been with C & C Professional (formerly Chew & Chiu) for more than 29 years and he has been a partner since 1999.


Prior to joining the firm in 1989, Peter worked in the business advisory section of Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young). It was here that he provided taxation and accounting services, and acted as the firm's designated audit coordinator. Some of the audits Peter handled included public company Firstpac and legal firm Minter Ellison. 


Apart from audit, accounting and taxation services provide to small to medium size businesses, Peter specialises in business advisory and a broad spectrum of local compliances for the Australian subsidiaries of international corporations. He keeps a particular focus on transactions between international related parties; which often involve thin capitalisation and transfer pricing issues. 


Peter also looks after our portfolio of high net worth clients, including professionals and entrepreneurs. 


Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with accounting major) from the University of NSW. He is a Member of the CAANZ in Australia, a registered tax agent, a registered company auditor (ASIC), and a registered self-managed superannuation fund auditor (ASIC). Peter is also a holder of a limited Australian Financial Services License (ASIC), advising on self-managed superannuation fund.


Peter is a strong believer that a healthy body nurtures a healthy mind. He enjoys daily visits to the gym and when time allows, he loves cooking for family and friends.


Peter also appreciates contemporary art, especially impressionist and surrealist paintings by some of the modern masters.

Christine Wei

Senior Manager

Christine has more than 19 years experience in providing taxation, auditing, financial reporting and accounting services to a range of corporate and private clients.


Her professional background includes five years with Ernst & Young, and three years with PricewaterhouseCoopers (now PwC).


Christine has extensive practice in performing statutory audits and financial reporting for multinational companies, medium-to-large private businesses, schools, colleges, religious institutions, and Australian Financial Services license holders.


Christine also has experience in providing business advice to medical specialists, and to small-to-medium sized clients in pharmacy and hospitality.


Christine has a particular interest in helping foreign clients – especially migrants – and medical specialists to set up and run their businesses, build wealth, and develop passive income streams.


She believes all businesses should manage tax and cash flow and plan strategically for the future. She also enjoys working with her clients to understand their business needs and deliver financial solutions to address those needs.


Christine has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney (with majors in Accounting, Commercial Law and Economics) and she is a Member of the CAANZ.


Christine and her husband, Rick, have two young children. At weekends they like nothing more than chilling out and have relaxing pastimes.

Glendy Cheung

Tax Manager

Glendy provides taxation services to clients as well as general office duties for C & C Professional.  She looks after accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll for C & C Professional. 


Glendy also provides accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll services to our clients. She speaks Mandarin and Cantonese, and is always happy to help with queries from clients.


Outside work, Glendy likes to spend time with her family, read books and watch soccer games. Her favourite team is Chelsea FC.

Michelle Zhang

Assistant Manager

Michelle attained her undergraduate double degrees at the Macquarie University (Bachelor of Professional Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration). Thereafter Michelle obtained a Master of Commerce degree, majoring in accounting and finance at the University of Sydney. She is currently enrolled in the CA program so as to enhance her professional knowledge and qualification. Michelle provides accounting and taxation services to individual, trust, corporate and self-managed superannuation fund clients. In addition, she looks after accounts payable for the Australian subsidiary of a large global telecommunication corporation. She is also in charge of monthly GST reporting for a subsidiary of one of the largest computer manufacturers in the world. 


Michelle is a fan of detective stories, with Sherlock Holmes being her favourite. She also enjoys cooking for friends and playing piano.

David Zheng

Senior Accountant

David graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting. He is looking forward to enrolling in the Chartered Accountants Program in the near future.


David looks after a broad spectrum of clients; providing taxation and accounting services to individuals, corporate clients, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds. He also takes care of payroll for the Sydney branch of a foreign bank as well as for the local operations of one of the largest computer monitor manufacturers in the world.


In his spare time, David enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities with friends.

Owen Tang

Advance Staff Accountant

Owen graduated from Australian National University (ANU) with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting as well as a Master Degree in Financial Management. He is currently enrolled in the CA program in order to enhance his professional knowledge and qualification in accounting.


Owen provides accounting and taxation services to individual, trust, corporate and self-managed superannuation fund clients. He also looks after the payroll of the Sydney branches of two foreign banks. He is responsible for the GST compliance of a subsidiary of one of the largest computer manufacturers in the world.  In addition, Owen provides weekly onsite accounting service to a mid-size business group of entities.


Owen is a fan of soccer, with Liverpool being his favourite team. He also enjoys travelling and sport activities with friends during the weekend.


Billy Li

Staff Accountant

Billy graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with a Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting and Human Resource Management.  He is planning to participate in the Chartered Accountants Program soon.


Billy takes care of numerous types of clients; providing taxation and accounting services to individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds.


He especially looks after clients who have investment properties and other investment assets. He is also involves with ASIC related matters, including company incorporation, changes to officers and deregistration.



Outside of work, Billy likes to play badminton with friends and enjoys cooking a variety of delicacies.
